PhiX Controls are a reliable, adapter-ligated library used as a control for Illumina sequencing runs and derived from the small, well-characterized PhiX genome. They offer benefits for cluster generation, sequencing and alignment, and calibration for crosstalk matrix generation, phasing, and prephasing.
PhiX Controls can be rapidly aligned to estimate relevant sequencing by synthesis (SBS) metrics such as phasing and error rate. The ready-to-use library can add value to your workflow and increase confidence in your results.
PhiX Indexed Control (1000 cycles) has a longer insert required for longer read 2×500 sequencing applications. Use for sample demultiplexing and/or to provide additional diversity and color balance in index reads when spiked into low-plexity library pools.
