More than 800 scientists from academia, healthcare, industry and pharma convened this week at the Festival of Genomics in London. Illumina was a founding sponsor of the meeting, which had a strong focus on the 100,000 Genomes Project and how it aims to transform the United Kingdom’s National Health Service and bring benefits for generations to come.
Illumina was given exclusive access to some of the leading experts at Genomics England including Dame Professor Sally Davies, the UK’s Chief Medical Officer, and Sir John Chisholm, Chairman of Genomics England, along with the UK Minister for Life Sciences, George Freeman MP. Illumina’s Managing Director of Population Sequencing Initiatives, Peter Fromen, also shares his thoughts.
